Now Accepting New Clients - Call (218) 606-1100

Hi, I'm Alma.
Life has a way of bringing us to unexpected crossroads. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, postpartum changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed, therapy can provide a place to slow down, gain perspective, and move forward with confidence.
I believe lasting change happens when we understand the connection between our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and physical well-being. My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to help clients create meaningful, lasting change.
I have had the privilege of providing mental health services throughout Minnesota's Northland, working closely with farmers, rural families and couples, and individuals facing the unique challenges of agricultural life. Growing up in rural Minnesota on a family farm has given me a deep appreciation for the resilience, values, and strong sense of community that often shape those experiences.
As a wife and mother, I also understand how life's seasons can reshape our identity, relationships, and priorities. I enjoy working with adults who are navigating transitions, balancing competing responsibilities, strengthening relationships, or seeking greater purpose and peace in their lives.
I strive to create a space where clients feel respected, understood, and free to explore what matters most to them. For those who wish to incorporate their Christian faith or deeply held personal values into the counseling process, I am happy to integrate those perspectives in a way that supports their goals.
Whether you're feeling stuck, carrying burdens alone, or simply looking for a place to process life's challenges, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
The approaches I use include strengths-based and solution-focused approaches, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and mindfulness-based practices.
