Aurora Abbot, MS, LPCC

Bio

Hi there! I’m Aurora, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota. I believe mental health care is an important part of feeling grounded, supported, and whole. Since beginning my work in the helping field at age 19, I have learned the value of meeting each person exactly where they are—with warmth, respect, and without judgment. I work with adults across all stages of life, including those navigating anxiety, mood disorders, relationship and adjustment stressors, trauma, anger, and Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI).

I strive to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and able to move at a pace that feels right for you. My approach is compassionate, curious, and exploratory. Therapy can be deep and transformative, and it can also include moments of lightness and humanity. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, Polyvagal theory and somatic interventions. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University.

When I am not working, I recharge in nature and enjoy time with my husband, loved ones, and our sweet senior pooch. I love animals and always welcome stories or pictures of your furry companions. I enjoy reading biographies and non-fiction, trying new foods, exploring local restaurants, traveling, listening to music, and trivia.

Wherever you are on your path, I would be honored to support you.
