I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who provides medication management and psychotherapy for individuals aged 16 and older. My career began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Paraguay from 2014–2016, where I developed a strong appreciation for integrative and public health approaches, including the role of traditional medicine and holistic,
non-pharmacological modalities of care. A combination of evidence-based practice, integrative medicine, dialectical behavioral therapy, and supportive psychotherapy guides my clinical approach. I work collaboratively with patients to overcome challenges and build happier, more meaningful lives connected to others.
After completing my Peace Corps service, I returned to Minnesota to pursue a career in public and mental health. I was drawn to this area of healthcare because I value working with underserved individuals who may experience stigma or barriers to care both within and outside of the healthcare system. Originally from St. Cloud, I relocated to Duluth because of my passion for the outdoors. I ultimately began my nursing career within a large hospital system,
working as an RN on its behavioral health team.
After graduating with my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from The College of St. Scholastica in 2023, I began practicing as a PMHNP within the same hospital system. During this time, I worked in an outpatient psychiatry clinic as well as on the Psychiatric Consult-Liaison team, providing psychiatric care to medically complex hospitalized patients and individuals presenting to the emergency department. I eventually transitioned to community mental health, where I continued to provide care in outpatient settings, a walk-in clinic, and on the
Carlton County and St. Louis County Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams.
I continue to have a passion for helping patients address their mental and physical health in a cohesive manner, with an emphasis on holistic and collaborative care.
Outside of work, I try to stay active and spend time outdoors. I enjoy training for larger endurance events such as Grandma’s Marathon and the American Birkebeiner ski race, as well as participating in local trail running, cycling, and gravel events. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my fiancé, our two dogs, family, and friends. Volunteering and hunting are also important parts of my life, and I value the opportunities they provide to stay connected to my community and the outdoors.
